I have asked if you were concerned about the only planet in our solar system that can support life as we know it .

One iof the answers said instead of focusing on the bad think of the good things that have changed like the removal of lead from gasoline
Lead in gasoline helped reduce knock but ended up in our blood , a bad thing.

What are the many other things , if any, that the environmentalist have done to help everyone yet not hurt the economy .

Was the removal of lead from gasoline an act of the environmentalists or one of those other wacko groups like MADD Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.

I understand your concerns, but you need to realize that the world is not black and white, right and wrong, Ford and Chevy.

Sometimes newsworthy events drive legislation, more often lobbyist drive legislation. Even more often, money drives legislation.

Some rules were written by whackos that could drive support through the press. Once they find a champion to carry this legislation up the hill, they can push support through a presence in the news that convinces other legislators to vote in their favor.

Other rules were drafted by scientists that are truly concerned about trends that must be reversed to keep our planet livable. The sky doesn't have to be falling to affect change in our behaviors.

Why is it that anyone who is concerned about the environment is a whacko and all those people who want to wreck it at any price are real cool dudes? If we don't start to show some respect for this wonderful planet we live on the economy won't matter a damn.

Where to begin? Wacko groups like MADD? Oh never mind. You probably wouldn't get it. Ask someone to tell you about air pollution. You are apparently too young to know what that was like.
