If it is a 16 or 32 bit CPU you still can. That is most cases. There are some new 64 bit CPU's that are coming out that make Windows 98 obsolete. Other than that Windows 98 might only have drivers issues with new hardware on a PC, but would still install and run on a new PC.

You can still install Windows 98 and even get updates but there will be no further updates (after July 11, 2006)

of course you can, you could still install windows 3.1 if you wanted to, it would be a poor idea, but you could
i would strongly suggest against installing win 98 on any computer however, if you dont think that your computer can run windows XP, then install Windows 2000, not ME, 2000. it uses virtually no resources, and has the stability of windows XP without all the flashyness

you may create a separate partition making use of the residing house windows ninety 8 CD. you may set up residing house windows ninety 8 on that partition. That way, you will possibly have the two working structures. i'm basically curious on why you're installation Win98. My suggestion..do no longer connect with the internet making use of ninety 8.

You can but it is not supported by Microsoft anymore. No more security updates. This will make your firewall and other software vulnerable to new attacks.
If possible go with Windows XP. This is supposed to have support for 3 years after Vista comes out.
Or if your computer has the capacity, go with Vista but not immediately after it comes out. It takes weeks or months to work out the "bugs".

Yes, but I wouldn't advise it. Microsoft announced that it is no longer supporting Win98 -- no updates, and, I tried to update the Norton antispy on the Yahoo toolbar, and was told I had to have Win2000 or higher.

Yeah, you can still install any OS (operating system) on a PC. All an OS is, is a way to interact with your computer, it doesn't matter how old it is.

I don't see why you would want to when you can get the latest version of windows, windows xp. XP runs faster and is overall just better.
