We (catholic church)have a world youth movement it is called NET National evangelization team...young people evangelizing the youth...it is having phenomenal success all over the world. At world youth day there were 500,000 youth...and the youth are telling us they want to hear the truth and they want rules and boundaries and reasons to behave well....they are responding to conservative values and are having a blast doing it.

This is a question many Catholics are asking and hopefully being addressed by all dioceses across the nation. Involving the laity, especially the youth, is a part of the Vatican II reforms that are still undergoing planning and execution. It really is a pity that it took the Church nearly four decades after the council adjourned to address the youth. At the moment, I don't think there is a definite answer to this wonderful question. Most people will say that the youth are important because they are the future of the Church. My local bishop says the youth are more importantly part of the present Church.

I don't know about the Catholic church as a whole but in my parish we have a youth group program. They pray together, study the Bible, and do a lot of community service. My daughter has benefitted from it greatly. We also have a great faith formation program for our youth.

God bless,
Stanbo

The most visible among many things is World Youth Day held every three years:

2005 in Cologne, Germany: http://www.usccb.org/laity/youth/wyd2005.shtml

2008 in Sydney, Australia: http://www.usccb.org/laity/youth/wyd.shtml

With love in Christ.

That is a deep question. Maybe you need to do some research and write a paper. Have it printed in your local paper and stir up some folks.
