When you read the nutrition label on a food item, it is based on a 2000 calorie a day diet. However, that figure is just an estimate based on average calorie consumption. The problem is that calorie consumption is different for almost everybody. Females generally need less calories than males, and that difference is also affected by the size of the male or female in question. For a girl your size to maintain her body weight, 2000 calories is sufficient if you get a moderate amount of daily exercise. If you get no exercise at all, you would be okay with about 1700 calories per day. Your boyfriend will need a great deal more... a guy his size, with a moderate exercise level, could take in 3000 calories or more and maintain his body weight. If he doesn't exercise, he could still take in about 2600 calories a day. Of course, these numbers change with age and amount of exercise... So in short, 2000 calories is probably fine for you, but your boyfriend will need substantially more (he should have trouble keeping his calorie intake below 2000 because thats nowhere neer enough for him...)

The 2000 calorie figure on nutrition labels is just an average they use as a basis for percentage of daily nutrients.
Your boyfriend should be eating more like 2900 calories for a 210 pound body.
That's using a 14X multiplier which Kimmer recommends as a base for men. You can also figure a rough weight for men with 100 lb at 5 feet and multiply every inch by 7 lbs.

No, everyone's body needs a different intake. Athletes need more, and people with less physical activity need less. Age is also a factor-- if you're growing then you'd need more.
It all depends. 2000 is an average number, but it can be more, or less if you're trying to lose weight (which, by your height and weight you probably should not!).
Who tells you to keep your diet to 2000 a day? I think nutrition labels often base their information on a 2000-calorie per day intake. They use it because it's an average number, but that's not what everyone's expected to consume.

The amount of calories is estimated with two techiques. The less accurate of the two is based on sex, height, & age. This is what most websites use for esimates. The more accurate is the Katch Mccardle equation, based on thses parameters as well as body fat percentage.
You most likely would need less than 2000. A previous estimate of 1690 would be a good ball park.

Girl, you actually need less that 2000 calorie.
At 130 pounds, you only need 1690 calories to maintain your weight.
But where's the fun in eating, and even living, if you have to calculate your calorie intake everyday.

More. Men typically need more calories than women do. If he is active than he should eat around 2400-2600 depending upon hios size and activity. You should only eat 2000 calories a day if you ae trying to lose weight as a man.

As well as gender, it depends on height, lifestyle and muscle mass. Your bf probably should be eating more than 2000 calories, more like 2,500, especially as he is well built and very active.
You should probably eat between 1,700 and 2000 calories per day depending on your activity level. Just don't go under 1,600 or you will probably start losing weight. HTH : )
