If you have left a faith tradition, why did you do so?

All religious traditions are based on faith. Faith is belief without tangible proof.

I left the Baptist church and Christianity because it did not sustain me, gave me no comfort and brought me no answers.

I left the organised religion for simple reasons they ofer no proof
we live in an age where gaining information about historical events is easy people are no longer limited to knowledge. if you trace the origin of all the major reigions they stem from many of the same people from the old testement such as abraham and david. the movements of moses can be varified by scientific fact and archioligy but the new testement is a fabricated story with no proof to be found. the court records of king herod and pontious pilot still exist today but neither of them mention a jesus characterso with no proof there can be no faith

I used to be an Atheist as well as many other things. I left that family tradition after I met Jesus personally one night. That relationship is also what prevents me from leaving my faith wish is now Christian.

May GOD richly bless you.

Because i love Jesus too much to leave Him. And i dont know if prevent is the right word. it would express a desire to leave when none exists as a majority in my heart. i do have some nonpolar stances of heart and mind that keep me from him, but none that make me want to leave. Also the more i come to know him the more i see that i am like a 2 year old and could not survive like i am now without him.

I left the faith I was raised in because after reading the book it was built around, I found that their god condemns me to an eternity of pain because of something I neither had a hand in being, nor could I change it. Ergo I left that religion and began seeking a new one, one that would accept and truly love me.

The disciples said something to Jesus when He asked if they were going to do what another had done upon hearing the truth....this person had turned away from Jesus. The disciples answered, "where would we go, Lord, for you hold the answer to life." Where would I go from knowing Him who is the truth, the life and the way? There is no other path for me than to follow Him, for all of time.

I stay a christian because God continually proves Himself to me over and over. I grow in my faith and become a stronger christian and over time I understand more about the bible and love Jesus more because I understand more now.
