i just had mine out a few months ago, and i know how much it hurt when they were in!!!! trust me i know tips:

1. stronger painkillers. talk to a pharmacist/your orthapedic surgeon about other medications ((tiocide was something i took that was dangerous, but took the pain away easily))

2. i know it sucks but sometimes you just have to wait it out and sleep. take sleeping pills (non-dangerous/no sympotms) ones or even benadryl that will put you to sleep and forget about the pain.

3. ice always helped me. it stinks even more, put a heating pad and an ice pad every hour rotating helped me get through it.

4. time. i remember times when i thought of ways to rip out my mouth it hurt so bad. but it'll all be over in a few more days, trust me.

i'm sorry it hurts so much. i cried a lot so don't worry. hope i helped and you'll get through this...trust me.

It's funny that you ask this question because I'm having the same problem. You should see a Dr if it is bad enough to where you are asking serious qustns such as this, I am using a gel the nameof it is "Olfen gel" but I was prescribed it from a Dr if your Drs medicine is not working mention this and try it, if possible. It is an inflamatory and also for pain ,well of course if the inflamation lowers so does the pain. You may not notice but your mouth maybe swollen and if you don't take care of this soon you may develop a click in your mouth, and this is serious, and you may need surgery. If serious also sometimes many people need braces, when this happens. If the teeth are hurting that bad maybe they are growing in wrong, although wisdom teeth are always very sore. I also use 400 mg ibuprofen twice a day 1 in the morning and 1 at night, the name is "brufen" it is just for teeth I believe and develops similar progresses as the "olfen gel." "brufen" is the "ibuprofen" brand. Drs can suscribe up to 1800 mg a day for this problem depending on the patient, Also WARNING- these medices should not be used together unless prescribed and should only be used in the order the dr prescribes. -but most importantly you need to go to the dr and hopefully I have given you enough information to get the RIGHT help if you don't have a good Dr.One more thing you may also need a night guard because the pain will sometimes cause you to clench your teeth while you are sleeping and this will cause more pain, swelling, clicking, ect. So Take Care of Your Teeth and Good Luck!

First off I would advise that you make an appointment with your dentist, but in the meantime you might want to try eating soft foods, and watching the temperature of your foods (not too hot or too cold).

To help with the pain and/or possible infection try putting a little essential oils of cinnamon and chamomile on a cotton ball or gauze and placing that on the sore area.

You can try chewing fresh ginger as well, but this would be hard to chew and thus could hurt if you accidently chew near your wisdom teeth.

You could also try taking a clove of garlic, bruising it, and then holding that to the sore area.

Try drinking any of the following herbal teas - tea of hops, chamomile, passionflower, or skullcap - about three to six times a day. Teas with antibacterial properties include echinacea, marigold, thyme, and rosemary. These would also need to be drank three to six times a day.

Also, you could try wetting the cottonball/gauze with a bit of whiskey. I used this for my daughter when she was teething (this was like eons ago). It seemed to work much better than the orajel. Of course I'm not saying to drink it, but rather to apply the wet cottonball to the sore area to numb the gum.

Well good luck and hopefully one of these helps.

See your Dentist as soon as possible. Delaying the visit can lead to infection as well as crowding of the teeth.

No Dental Insurance? Try one of the discount plans below. In most metropolitan areas you can receive a minimum 25% discount with the Oral Surgeon. Discounts are greater (up to 80%) with a General Dentist.

You need to visit a dentist on an emergency basis. You may need an extraction. Meanwhile, if you have whole cloves in the house, try chewing on one. The essential oil in the clove will give you some temporary relief.

If possible you may want to have them extracted. most likely the pain is from an angled tooth eruption towards the adjacent tooth.

You could rub a bit of scotch, or some other alcohol over it... it will numb the pain. ( It worked for me )
