I have chosen Emerald green as my color, with silver accents. Since it's a wedding, there will also be lots of white.

Do you think I should pick a second color, like a yellow or a purple, or should I just stick with just the green? Any suggestions?

My wedding is going to be September 1.

I don't really want to tone down the green. It is my favorite color, and my engagement ring will be an emerald set in white gold. I just wanted to feel everyone out about having a second color maybe as an accent. Picking colors is something that should be easy!

I don't think you need any more colours, you have white and green with a hint of silver, that's enough, it will start looking too over done, just keep it simple and use those colours, great choice.

And don't listen to that mean girl who is saying that emeralds don't make good engagement rings, what a cow she is, probably has no engagement ring on her finger and is jealous!!!! I have opals which are also very soft, but as long as you are careful there is no reason not to have emeralds, they are my birth stone, very beautiful.

well, technically you have three "colors" - white, green and silver - but the main problem is that all 3 of your "colors" are colors that would have been there anyway - white dress, green foliage, etc. My suggestion would be to either pick a complimentary accent color (blue, yellow, pink, purple, orange, brown, red, etc - almost every colors matches green) or mix various shades of green in through out the decor. This will add more interest and dimension to the decor and color theme.

My personal favorites to go with emerald green: pale pink, lavendar, or chocolate brown

If you go with a second color I like purple of the ones you picked. Make it a dark, rich purple though. However, I think green will be fine alone. Also did you think of adding Gold accents also? Just a suggestion. Congrats it will be beautiful.

FYI - emeralds don't make a good engagement rings. They're a VERY fragile stone and WILL chip over time. There's a reason why you never see emeralds set in prongs. May I suggest a regular engagement ring with a channel or bezel set emerald wedding band.

You color palette sounds complete. Emerald with silver and white is perfect; I wouldn't add another color.

you picked a very BOLD color that can usually stand on it's own.

I would pick a second color only if you were trying to tone it down. What month is your wedding in? If it's december i'd pick another shade of green or a deep purple. If it's in the spring or summer i'd pick a yellow.

go with the green only,,,when I got married I had white , lavender and purple...if you like you can get a different kind of green that goes with the one that you have already picked...if you pick a stronger color as purple or yellow, the green will diminish and the colors will be purple and yellow not green....confusing uh?

sounds fine i wouldnt add anything else green with yellow or purple sounds a little chaotic... if anything a lighter green in the same emerald tone or maybe a lighter shade of blue
if you wanted purple make it a light purple like lavender

congradulations on your impending nupituals and good luck i am sure it will be beautiful!!!!!!!!!!

If you want another color try a green that compliments the green you already have. But there is no real need for a second color.

I once considered the same color sceme. I think a simple emerald green would be fine alone.
