Read James 1:1-4. If you are a believer God may be doing anything. He could be trying to teach you patience, or perserverance, or He could be keeping you from something that He does not want you involved in. There's no way to know, all I know is that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him.

Your hand getting broken DOES NOT glorify God. God is GOOD and all GOOD THINGS come from God. What glorifies God is the way YOU RESPOND to the situation. You will either give glory to God, or complain and murmur. You really decide if God will be Glorified in the situation by 1. Being thankful that you have a hand to get broken (some people don't) 2. Praising God that it wasn't your neck that was broken. 3. Testifying about the miracle that you were delivered from a worse fate (maybe, I don't know the whole story) 4. Rejoicing on behalf of the doctor's that God provided who are able to fix your hand. 5. Walking in the Power of God during the whole time; when circumstances (the principalities and powers of the air - Eph 6) are trying to keep you from having Joy, Peace and the Determination to continue to love, honor and obey God the Father. Be Blessed!
p.s. As far as 'teaching' goes. Maybe it is to 'teach' you to STILL TRUST, LOVE, HONOR AND OBEY GOD, even when bad things happen. It was Job that said, "shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. (still, the evil did not come FROM God, it came from Satan). So, like Job, will you choose to glorify God, or not?

Well, you get your name on the prayer chain, which gets people caring about you, and that should get you praying for those around you, which starts a whole prayer movement, which spreads to the surrounding community and ends up on YA -- more prayer and care, and you've glorified God in your broken had after all, and I think I'll stop typing now.

If you're not a Christian then nothing you do brings glory to God. With your broken hand you're just reaping the pain of living in a fallen world. Even Christians break their hands. You should tell us how you broke it. That might be interesting.

If you are a born again believer in Jesus Christ, there is nothing that will ever happen to you that God cannot use to instruct you as to His character, what He would have you be, do, think in your time on this earth. Do you believe the bible? It says this: "all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose".
I'm really sorry about your hand. I fractured a toe on my left foot for the second time in a year and last night a tire blew out as I was doing 65mph on the freeway. And I'm still here, loving God!

In the Bible, it says that if your right hand does not glorify God, then cut it, maybe you have to think of something to glorify Him... why don't you play music for God when your hand will be okey...

God is not a superman sitting on a cloud dishing out calamity to the world.
God is the process of growth, the ground of meaning and truth.
Can you serve meaning and truth in your suffering? Absolutely. Then do it. For myself, suffering always helps me remember the most important things. To be kind to the people around me and to help out my brothers and sisters who are suffering, too.

There could be any number of reasons. It could be to correct so erroneous thinking or change your direction in life. Pray about it. God had to break Jacob's hip. You got off light. Ask God He has the answer.

God is teaching you to appreciate having that hand. What would happen if you would have needed to have that hand amputated instead of needing a cast?
