Cats internal clocks are set differently than ours. They are naturally nocturnal. That means, they are wide awake when we are normally asleep. A cat should have a constant source of food and water. That means dry food available at all times, with a nice big bowl of water beside it.
You can add canned food if you like, but if you feed a really high quality dry food, it is not necessary. Cats do not eat more than they need. Cats get fat because they are getting the wrong kind of food or inadequate exercise. If you have just one cat, then you owe it a debt of time to play with it for exercise.
I have ten cats. I keep three bowls of Royal Canin dry down on the kitchen floor at all times, and I have two bowls in the upstairs hallway. There are water bowls by each dry food source and that gets changed two or three times a day to keep the water fresh. I also feed canned food in the morning and again at night. I have large cats, but not one overweight cat. They play together and I play with them.
Cats aren't like dogs or people. They don't eat until they get sick.

Talk to your Vet and find out just how much your cat should weigh and how much you should feed him for he should not be so hungry that he is biting you Also I kknow you have water available always. Cats do need to eat until full for if not getting enough over time a illness will set in. Are you sure he's biting(nipping-actually) for food or is to get your attention and that he wants to play for if he considers you another cat that is how they interact. If it isn't for food try saying No and then gently push him away and hiss like a cat would when you do not wish to be bothered with the understanding that you do interact and give him playtime with you.

was he declawed at some point? declawed cats often become biters.. its not the cats fault
its got nothing to do with being hungry.. unless he is starving or something..
is he neutered?? if not its probably a male agression thing...
if he wants more food its becuase the food he is on is mostly filler (corn) and not enough nutrition.... cats should have free access to food all the time

Buy him some toys, like a ball
Or use a little rope to tie a ball or something to a chair, my cat used to love playing with it

TRY LETTING HIM HAVE SOME CATNIP. MY CAT LIKES IT. PLAYS MORE THAN EATING NOW. ITS FUN TO WATCH THEM ON CATNIP AND PLAYING WITH THE BALL STUCK IN THE ROUND THING YOU CAN BUY AT THE PET STORE. IT MAKES FOR THE BEST LAUGHS FOR EVERYONE.

I agree with getting him some Catnip. He will be so happy & will resort to just giving you love nibbles.

Carry around a spritzer of water, and when he bites, squirt him with water. It won't hurt him, but he won't like it. Pretty soon he'll learn that biting = wet, so he'll stop biting.
Good luck!
