I'm not religious, but the first thing that comes to mind for me is incorrect... I'm not trying to defend religion per say or claim that it is the right way or not... but all the wars and the oppression caused in the name of religion are not the fault of religion itself, it's the people who claim to do these acts in the name of religion that make it wrong. People do horrible things, all claiming to have their own reasons that make it right. Religion is just often misused. Like I said, I'm not religious, but how can you really put down any belief that is meant to have people love one another, help one another, and overall live life in a way that makes everyone equal and happy. I know religion has not really lived up to this, but that's because of the people. So when you quote "Religion is the root of all evil", I simply think how can that be when people are the root of all evil. With out us, evil would be nothing but a word.

Religion may very well be the root of all evil, however... A personal relationship with Christ is the root of true Joy!

The only thing that comes to mind is that you misquoted the most misquoted statement in History. People always say the
Bible says "that money is the root of all evil" actually the Bible
says "the love of money is the root of all evil.

Ain't it the truth! It is because Religion has become a quest for power and greed and the want of money. So there you have it. It's not money is the root of all evil; the want of money is the root of all evil. And Religion long ago became a quest for power and money. Wanting only to grow and have control. Now it is evil hiding in a Vail of nonsense.

"without LAW, sin cannot be imputed to man." In order for evil to be known, the law and righteousness must be known. In religion, those things come together. Without LAWS of God, there is no such thing as SIN. Religion and sin are tied together.

You can say it like this too, Evil is the root of all Religion!

well i can get behind that because religion defines morals and what is good and evil. So it is the root of evil as much as it is the root of good, and everything in between

Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

It is a false quote taken from the bible and twisted a bit.
The real quote goes like this 'the love of money is the root of all evil'

Christianity has the truth it is in the person of Jesus Christ Himself.

Hey.... Religion may be the root to all evil. Just because someone is religious does not mean they are going to heaven. You can play church all day, but if you never accept Jesus Christ into your heart then you are a dying sinner on the way to he**,but GOD conquers all and He reigns forever and ever.. AMEN

I don't think that religion is the source of all evil.
Religion, with the belief of exclusivity is the root of all evil; that "my religion is right, so all others must be wrong" is what's destroying civilization.
