On my left foot the 2nd toe is longer than the first but on my right foot they are the same length.

Is this normal? Or does it mean something if anything?

Yes, it's perfectly normal. Everybody's different. I think it might have something to do with genes, too. My 2nd toe is DEFINITELY longer than my big toe - haha!

It is said that those with a 2nd toe tht is longer than your big toe, that it means you are more intellectual.

I remember reading this in a magazine. Apparently the lengths of your toes and fingers can mean a great deal about who you are as a person.

This quote I found is quite good:

"It seems a longer second toe is a characteristing trait of the Mediterranean race (ancestral to the British Isles too - hence the 'Celtic theory'). I guess the horse riders of the steppes (Proto-Aryans) did not develop this long second toe because it would inhibit their horseriding skills, that's why the descendants of these horse riders (Slavs and some Germans) don't have this trait."

I included some links below on the subject...hope this helps.

This is called Morton's Toe. It's generally not an issue but if your toe rubs on your shoe or causes blisters or whatever, you can have an orthotic (plastic shoe insert thing) made to help your foot fit shoes better.

I have long second toes too and generally, I agree with the rest of the Answerers that the longer second toe *must* have something to do with brilliance or genius or whatever...

That's quite common and it's normal. My second toe on both feet are longer than my first toe. There is an old wive's tale that says; if your second toe is the longest of all your toes, you will be more bossy; it's something like that. Don't know if there is any truth in it though.

Its common, though not everyone has toes like that. My 2nd and 3rd toes are longer than all the others.

As far as I know, perfectly normal. The only two in my family who don't have that are my mom and my middle sister. They have really small feet and their big toe is the biggest toe. Hope that helps.

It is just genetics. Nothing is wrong. None of us are the same and not very many people have perfect feet. All are beautiful.
