Besides buying products and stuff, just wash your face a lot, and some "emergency ways" are to put toothpaste at night then the next day wash it with vinegar...or water..

A good way to prevent and get rid of zits would be Proactive. I am sure you have heard of it( if not visit www.proactive.com) it has three steps to it the first is washing your face with a micro-scrubber solution, the second is wiping your face with some kind of moisturizer, and the final one is a cream that is supposed to repair your skin and prevent future breakouts. If you just get the 3 step solution which is the three things I just mentioned it costs about 60 dollars every 6 weeks or so, but believe me it is worth it it worked for me. Oh and a little heads up at first it may seem like it makes your acne worse, because it draws out the infection in the pimples you already have but after about seven days you clear right up and it does a pretty good job of preventing future zits to so try it out.

Well, you shouldn't wash your face "a lot" as that can strip your skin of moisture and lead to more breakouts. Here's what I suggest--
For oily skin:
Use a clay-based cleanser and a good astringent. This will soak up excess oil. Replenish with an oil-free moisturizer. If you feel like your skin is getting oily through the day, use blotting papers to soak it up.
For dry skin:
Use a gentle (i.e.- the grains are as small as baking soda granules) exfoliating cleanser to remove dead skin that can clog your pores. Skip the astringent, you don't need it. Use an oil-free, hydrating moisturizer.
For combination skin:
Focus on the T-zone, where most of the trouble can be. Use a cleanser designed for combination skin and an astringent on the T-zone. Moisturize with a (you guessed it) oil-free moisturizer.
For any skin type, use a cream with salicylic acid in it to treat existing breakouts. Benzoyl peroxide can dry out the skin, though it might work out for oily skin.
Don't pick, poke or squeeze, you'll only push bacteria further into your pores.

I swear by vitamin E! During my second pregnancy, when hormones made my face as smooth as the moon's surface, I put vitamin E oil on my face at night and washed it off in the morning. It was almost all clear in a week.
Now that I'm not pregnant and 34 years old I don't get breakouts often but when I do, I take vitamin E supplements to take care of my skin from the inside out.

What worked for me was to avoid dairy. Weird as it sounds to this day I can tell when I've had dairy- I get a zit.
Oh, and Toms of Maine soap is good to use on your face if you don't want to order proactive, etc. Its all natural.

wash your face only twice a day- when you wake up and before you go to bed with a very mild soap- try the dove sensitive bar. dont use anything harsh. your diet can also have an effect on your skin- try to cut back on sugary and greasy foods.
