That's racism. To judge one church because of a tragedy is very racist. Not all churches are alike! We all should go to church because of God not the people in the first place. Our priorities need change.

The Bible verses Hebrews 10:23-25 answer your question (all the verses apply to your question even though they might not seem to at first glance).
If someone is a Christian, then they should be with other believers. Two good reasons are: because the Bible commands it and because we need to be supporting one another.

There are lots of churches and lots of ways to be "burned," so your question is kind of vague. A couple points to ponder: not all churches are Biblical and sometimes our own pride makes us feel like we have been "burned' when we really haven't been (not saying that this is your case).

I pray that you find a church that is biblically based and teaches the whole word of God.

P.S. Part of lookn2cjc's post reminds me of a comment that I have heard a few different times. If you ever find the perfect church don't join it because it won't be perfect anymore.

i'd been burned by a church and just gave up on churches altogether. i still considered myself a christian, though. then it turned to ''well, i believe what the bible says, but i won't support an organised religion.'' then it went to ''i am not religious, and i refuse to be associated with those xtians.'' see, it starts when we start making exceptions to God's instructions.

when we say ''well, i think God would allow me to not go to church b/c of this.'' and what that ultimately is is idolatry. it's making God into something that He isn't and then worshipping that false idea of Him as a god. and when we worship something we've made, there really is nothing to keep us in line anymore.

and something else just came to mind from a song by Disciple: ''I've walked a mile in your shoes
and it hurt me more than it hurt you (Hebrews 4:15)'' talking about Jesus. so do't worry, He knows your story, he's experienced it, too. there will always be tares in the wheat.

As people grow there friends come and go. Louse some friends and get new ones. It is unusual to have a friend all your life. As one grows in religion , it is unusual for a person to stay at any church all your life. Friends can hurt you and churches can hurt you. Churches are people and no person is perfect except Jesus. So the people and you can make ma stakes too.

Kinda like not all restaurants serve good food.....and not every church teaches the true word of God AND GUESS WHAT? nobody's perfect....so if your looking for perfection, you're gonna be disappointed! Keep your eyes on Jesus and find a good church and quit being a baby!

.No, I suggest take time for yourself and find God, a personal relationship, spiritual.... is the best way, then you'll feel that you don't need to be in a religion.
I don't care what kinda church I go to, God is there, be open to all the ways God communicates, find that personal relationship with God, than no one can hurt you, cause God will always be there by your side, although you do have to trust him, heart felt prayers are very important

It depends on what you mean by "burned." Not all churches are the same, and whatever it was you found that you disliked about one, might very well NOT be the case for another one. You simply cannot judge all by one.

I've felt burned in my church, but you have to realize that people are not God, and not all people have the Spirit of Christ. We need the Spirit of forgiveness, even if the others don't have it, and insist on being prickly. Persevere, the main thing is the Truth, and your relationship with Christ.

Beats me Christian. Maybe they are just trying to help you. Always go with a church that teaches the Word of God chapter by chapter and verse by verse. Everything else is a waste of your time.><>

I have been hurt also in church. But that doesn't mean that god hurt me. but it does make it harder to find/look for another church. God knows what happen and he also knows you love him, ask him to help you find a place, until then, communicate
with the lord anyway you know how. god bless you my friend
