We don't like Comcast - their service isn't very good and their bundled packages for phone/internet/cable cost a fortune! We've been considering a dish so we can dump Comcast but want to be sure it will be worth it. Does anyone have any experience moving from cable to dish? Are they comparable? Is the price reasonable?

switching to DISH definitely is worth! The packages start from $19.99 monthly only and the picture quality is great. Unless you have severe storms you don't have to fear losing the signal, and you know how long severe storms last, not very long. I had more outages from power outages than from losing signal *lol*
You might check out http://www.dishnetworkbargains.net - they have some nice promos currently running and their customer service is quite good, that's for me as important as the prices. They have different packages listed on their homepage. As far as I know they also offer internet services. Call 'em up and simply ask what you need to know, doesn't cost anything except a few minutes of your time.

If you have snow, high winds or bad rain anytime around your house you wont like a sat dish very much. I think Comcast with thier $99 a month for internet, TV and phone is a great deal! A couple less bills per month and you dont have to trek out in the snow to wipe off your cable so you can watch TV.
I have worked for Adelphia for about 6 months now my uncle has a dish and he thought it was great until it didnt work and it took the dish guys 2 weeks to come fix it. He has Adelphia again.

I like comcast, they were so good to me until i moved out of their cable area. I paid 60 a month for cable and internet. Now we have the 3-in 1 package Dvr,digital, and internet for 99 a month its great!! They've always worked with me too when i lost my job and they didnt charge me a big deposit or ask for a credit card. I think they may be asking for them now, not sure. Oh yeah they changed comcast to Time Warner cable. Good luck!!

I have had both satelite companies now I have comcast and comcast internet for high speed I only pay 24.95 a month, it was 19.95 amonth for the first 3 months. with my cable it is reasonable. I wouldn't have a satelite again if it was given to me! I definently do like this hdtv crap.

DITCH THE COMCAST AND GET DISH NETWORK. I HAD IT AND IT WAS GREAT. I WAS ON CABLE AND ALL THEY EVER DID GOOD WAS RAISE THE PRICE, CONSTANTLY. I SHUT 'EM DOWN AND WENT WITH SATELLITE. THE ONLY WAY TO GO.

dish network is pretty good. ive had it for about 7 years now and im still happy with it. but if you have an HDTV, you have to pay a llittle extra to get HD service

Where I live we have MediaCom Cable and it is better than dish of any kind.

DISH NETWORK IS BETTER AND YOU CAN PROBABLY ELIGIBLE FOR THERE PACKAGE PLAN YOU CAN GET DSL,DISH NETWORK, AND SPRINT/EMBARQ FOR A SET AMOUNT CALL SPRINT/EMBARQ TO SEE IF YOUR IN AN AREA THAT IS QUALIFIED.
