He has still not disclosed what he meant when he referred to "the dirt that I thought was gone." However, maybe he has misinterpretted the meaning of his urges. Perhaps God was saying "I want you to be my minister, but I want you to do so as a Gay man. Your shame is your enemy, not your homosexuality."

If God called Haggard to ministry, doesn't it make sense that God knew he had deep-seeded homosexual urges?

It's hard to say, but as I've said before, it's ironically funny.

Well carpetrug is wrong ,,, homosexuality has been a plague since the dawn of man ,,,, And your asking this question strongly indicates that you know nothing of what is says in the Bible about effeminates ,,,, According to what is contained in the Bible ,,,, homosexuality is your enemy and your shame ,,,, Not the other way around ,,,, and those that are like that will not pass through the gates,,,, bottom line and end of story ,,,, We have no ones word but Haggards that he really was called to the ministry ,,,, There's allot of money involved in ministries,,,, especially on TV ,,,,, People send their dollars into these ministries by the thousands and millions of dollars are involved and all tax free ,,,, like the one time PTL club ,,,, Jim and Tammy Fae Baker really cleaned up before their sex scandle hit national news ,,,, They and people like them will run a scam for as long as they can and get as much as they can get out of it and we only have their word for it that they were devinely inspired or called to the ministry ,,,, Haggard is no different ,,,,, They ought to put him in the same cell with Mark Foley ,,,, And why not ,,,,, They both belong to the Republican party so they ought to be quite compatable ,,,, Homosexuals as a whole but especially these so called queer priests and ministers are going to have a rude awakenning when they face their maker ,,,, The leaders and false leaders will pay double fold the price as those who follow them ,,,, Many shall be called but few there will be that are chosen to enter through the gates of heaven ,,,, If you are puzzled by these things and you really want answers then you need to study what's said in the Bible ,,,, If you have trouble with interpretation then look for a person well versed in the Bible to explain things to you ,,,, But you can believe this and I'm sure there are many that won't ,,,, Homosexuals are in trouble and there is no denying it ,,,, Every one that lives this kind of life style is headed for hell in a hand basket and the closer they get the faster they go ,,,,,

Usually the people who fight hardest against an evil are those that are battling its temptation. They aren't vocally fighting against it because they think that they are better than others. They are trying to save others from their mistakes. For example if you want to find people that hate alcohol stop by an AA meeting sometime. Many of those people occasionally fall back into their old lifestyle, that doesn't make it right.
Evidently you either don't believe in a God, or the Bible. You couldn't believe in them both and believe the comments that you made. The Bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong. Therefore God would have to be contradicting His word in order to do what you are claiming.

I think it's ironic that a homosexual prostitute has become a "Whistle Blower" too. 'GOD IS GOOOOOD!!" but meth is better? There is much more to this story than simple pornographic pleasures. One Big fish might just show a very large school in one pond of Christianities self forgiven and unrepentant. It also shows how pretentious many people of authority are and its ability to corrupt people who get bored with monotonous vocations. Remember Solomon? I wonder how many will come forward from his kindred. The other thing is if you think about it from a christian philosophy by judging their leader this was itself hypocritical. Maybe he will become a Gay evangelist and start a new rights group of the unforgiven. These people should really take regular polygraphs to ensure repentance. He would have to recant his previous statement of gay marriage though.I think this guy might just retire and slip away too. He must have a hill of moolah by now.

I've concluded from studying Scripture that God allows some people to struggle with homosexuality, and that it's His way of telling them that He wants them to remain celibate and to focus on Him, not on sexual human relationships. For that matter, not even heterosexuals have a biblical license to ignore chastity or self-control. But since our nature causes us to not especially like chastity or self-control, we tell ourselves that that must not be the way God wants us to live, so then we live the way we want, and we pay the consequences for it.

I posted an entry about Haggard on my blog yesterday. Check out the link below.

Nice try, but no cigar.
Haggard's sin was sin, shame is the effect of sin, not the cause of sin or even sin itself.
Haggard has repented, and has sought counsel of wise Christians who can work with him to restore him. Haggard will never hold a church office or position of trust again, even after he is restored because however much he repents, he has lost his witness.
The Bible nowhere says that shame is a sin, but every time we read about homosexuality in the Bible it is condemned in the strongest terms possible

Sin is placed on intercourse with the aid of fact Marriage is between the 7 sacraments God gave us. And a marriage is meant to final continually. intercourse is for leisure interior a marriage in basic terms. sure God made 2 sexes for replica. Why did no longer he create something else? with the aid of fact it became HIS decision. that's a sin (vanity) to question God (and his selections).

What was God trying to tell you the last few times you sinned ?? You are in the flesh just as much as the rest of us , so after you flush it , get off yourself-centered throne !!!

I don't believe God calls people to ministry.

I do not believe homosexuality is wrong morally, nor that it is a sin.

I think Ted's biggest offense was his hypocrisy and perpetuation of the discrimination toward the gay/lesbian community.

I think that's possible, but Haggard needs to repent of this drug use. What saddens me is that it seems to me that Haggard thinks his homosexual urges are the sin, and doesn't seem to be repentant about the real sin: illegal drug use. He has to work this out before ever being an acceptable pastor, in my opinion.
