Ok my pregnant dachshund is officially 51 days into her pregnancy, but unofficially she might be 58 days into her pregnancy (the breeder said she saw them for the 1st time on the official date, but we had had the dog w/ the male dog for a week already).

About 3 weeks ago my dog started producing milk. now her milk bags are dragging the ground. Today for the first time milk is starting to come out out of four of her nipples. This is her first pregnancy. I've done research on this, but I couldn't find a website, book, etc. on this subject. Please don't tell me that i'm not prepared, not ready, etc.

Thanks.

I want to know if she will be having her puppies soon. If you can give an estimate that's fine. :D thanks

That is perfectly normal..She is just getting ready..Here is a great illustrated site to help you as the day approaches> http://www.thepetcenter.com/gen/whelping.html
A little trick I use, so the moms don't catch me by surprise..Offer a favorite treat, such as a piece of chicken or bit of wiener..If she takes it and asks for more, she won't begin labor for at least another 6 hours..but if she refuses it..call in sick, so you can be with her..

Ok I am not an expert, But I have done research and Had my dog give birth recently, plus Know a lady who breeds yorkies, I would say she is going to have them withen the next couple of days. The lady who breeds yorkies, her dog just had a litter, She got milk 2days before her dog whelped. My dog also got milk 2days before she whelped, And I was off on her due date also so I thought she still had a week to go. Here's a web site that helped me out alot I hope it can help you too.

A really great website is http://www.debbiejensen.com

Do you know what day she went out of heat? If you do, you can count 57 days from that day and that will be your guaranteed whelp date. This method never fails!

Veterinarian? Call and ask if this is normal or if there is something you should do.
