there is a girl that i work with I have been at my job for almost a year and she has only been there a couple of months. i work on a line in a medical factory. our line has been having problems making our numbers and she is one of the reasons why. i had to be moved for a couple of days to fill in on another line and she took over my spot when it came time for me to come back i went to my spot and told her our boss would be over in a minute to figure out where everyone would go and she said "oh no i need to speak with her about this." when i told her i already had spoken to the boss she said ok but when i turned around she was up at the bosses desk.
she came back in a few minutes and said "oh she doesn't want you over here."
the next thing i know i am somewhere else doing a job i don't like!
the problem with this is that i can produce 3 parts to this girls one!
so what can i do with this girl everyone hates her and keeps getting things her way because her dad works in the office!

What goes around, comes around.

Here are some suggestions:
1. Talk to your boss about your higher and better efficiency, in the previous task AS COMPARED TO THE NEW TASK. Arguing from productivity point of view, rather than personal attack on the other girl, makes it easier for your boss to decide on your favour. Also reflect highly of your professionalism and commitment to quality.

2. Consider why you don't like the new task. Maybe it's just because you're new to it. Does the new task provide you with better environment, new experience, better workmates, opportunity for promotion, etc? Weigh the good and bad objectively. Your dislike to the new task could have been caused by your anger towards the other girl.

3. If the company is really mistreating you, consider looking for another job. Life's too short to waste by being unhappy while making someone else richer.

Do the new job even better than the last one, and do not worry about her. It is doing the job well and knowing all parts of a line that will get you the pay and promotions, the not fighting with this girl. You cannot win. Trust me. This is a test to see how well you handle conflict. If you do not handle it well, you will never be the person in charge.

Well if there is no union there is not much you can do. Because you have seniority I mean, but you have to do what your boss tells you to do not what this girl tells you to do.

So you can maybe ask your boss why you can't have your job back if it was officialy yours that is, otherwise there is not much you can do.

Nepotism is one of the greater problems of the work environment, when it is allowed as it is in your place of employment it causes for strife in the work place maybe you should look for another job and when you find one you can let this employer why they lost a good employee and why they will continue to lose them if they care, but I doubt they will.

Good luck.

Get a better job.

The boss doesn't care and doesn't have time to waste trying to keep everyone happy. She'd rather you all be on the line producing.

You said it, "her dad works in the office", That's why the backstabbing biotch gets her way. One day she'll piss off somebody & she'll end up being nothing more than a bloody, dirty, greasy spot on the floor !

. My wife and I wrote a massive book of 200 love hints. We spent several hundreds of hours researching that very question.

Learn to treat that person not-nice. Do not be mean, do not be nice, find an excuse to not spend much time with that person.

One good excuse for you to avoid that person: Always be in a hurry when you are around that person. "I am so busy doing this this and this, I'll see you later."

Every job has someone like that. Ignore her or find a different job.

shoot first and ask questions later!...can't do that?...ignore her, visibly. make it obvious. can't hurt your job any more. sounds like you're going to have to go for something different anyway.

Ignore her--she'll screw up eventually.
