If you want to renew it in a couple of years, the age difference will be less important.

I think puppy love is right, but with some exceptions. 16-17 years of age is old enough to know if you're in love or not. Is it love that is ready for marriage? Is it unconditional love? Probably not or maybe so. Only you can decide. Parents, although blinded at times, are only trying to protect your heart. I know it's hard to understand. Experience is how you know it's real love. How often is the first time the right time?

well she was wrong to do that..one thing you can't ever do is know exactly what another person feels!! it is very possible to be in "true" love as a teen....sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't! but there are a couple cases where people go out in high school and grow up to marry eachother and have children...and stay together!!! you guys should get back together...just keep it on the low!!!! or wait out until you graduate!!!

ya that really bugs me when people say that but it cant be love if
your mom could break you up if it was real love you might have been able to find a way to stay together
plus the age difference wouldnt matter much when you get older like in your 40s and 50s

Like I said with more of the other people on here. (that guy that asked 13 and in love!) that is a generalization and there are ALOT of exceptions. If you think you guys are truly in love than so be it! Do not care what others think! But then do not compromise your values, make sure of this and if your mom broke you guys up, then you need to convince her that he is the one for you.

If your love is real it will stand this test and the test of time. Don't spend all your time being angry and hurt...that only leads to bitterness. If you truly love him you will get back together. Take your time apart and make it count...get good grades in school, volunteer in your community, be involved in sports or clubs. Don't sit around whining and moaning and being unpleasant to be around...keep making yourself a better person. Best wishes

definite. i do no longer see how its any distinctive from 2 adults being in loves (so it particularly p*sses me off while all of us belittles a teenager's thoughts basically because of the fact of their age).

Unfortunately, in my opinion, his mom wouldn't be able to break you two apart if you two really had something there.

If Mom was able to break you guys up, it was puppy love.
