We always prepare/serve the "basic" turkey and trimmings on Thanksgiving; It's Christmas when we're more apt to branch out and prepare food according to our Italian roots- homemade ravioli, hand-stretched fettucini, cioppino, etc. I guess it's since Thanksgiving is kind of "historic" in nature, it's more steeped in historic tradition, whereas Christmas is often celebrated by families with cultural/nationality touches.

we have pretty much just the traditional thanksgiving food. a turkey (not very big though, only 4 people) and stuffing is put in it, and gravy made with it is put on it and the mashed potatoes. we also have mashed sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, cranberry jelly, and rolls. yum. also, pumpkin pie for dessert. happy thanksgiving!

Turkey, my dad's homeade stuffing, "real" mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, at least a couple different pies, jello pie, cranberry sauce, & rolls. Then we all fall over and sleep for the next 12 hours (not really lol).

We always serve traditional family favorites. As the family has grown and changed over the years, we have added new recipes. We have a lot of vegetables and relishes, and at least 3 kinds of pie. My personal favorite is the Cranberry-Orange relish, which is uncooked. Yum!

Turkey, ham, chicken dressing, chicken dumplings, potato salad, greens, butterbeans, fruit salad, deviled eggs, sweet potato casserole, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, butternut cake and red velvet cake, just to name a few. My husband has 7 aunts and uncles who all have at least three to five kids and these kids have two to four kids and on and on and on.......... Needless to say, not much food is left over.

turkey of corse, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sause, my family does cornbread but you could do biscuts, macaroni and cheese, some people do ham too depending on how many guests your having, peas or corn, pumpkin pies, sweet potatoe pie, it's alot of stuff you can do but thoughs are kind of the basics, ooooohhh and yams with marshmellows on top, that's one of my favorites.
