A week ago saturday (8 days ago) I was seen in the er for a kidney stone. After 12 attempts to start an iv failed I was givin a shot in the hip of demerol and phenegran. It was not painful at the time and left no bruise or knot. On wendsday I was going to bed and rolled over and it felt as if i was laying on a lit cigerate. It is a searing kind of pain and everytime i touch it it feels that way. Now when I walk the pain radiates down my leg. What on earth could this be and why did it take so long to show up??

12 attempts to start an IV????????? There are policies against this.............Maybe the meds went into soft tissue and not muscle. Unless you are allergic, take some Tylenol for several days and soak in a warm tub at bedtime. If pain continues to radiate, go to a different facility and have it checked...Hang in there!!

RE: What does the B12 shot do? My pal advised me that perhaps I will have to take a look at the B12 shot to aid with my weight reduction. I were making an attempt the whole lot. Can any individual provide an explanation for what this shot does and if it truthfully works.

Sounds like they bruised the bone or hit a nerve. Try putting an ice pack on it and take it easy for a few days. If it doesn't get any better I would suggest you see a Doctor.

Try ice on the are and take Tylenol. It sounds like you are thin and the needle did hit nerve or soft tissue all of the answers have merit to them.
I think I understand your pain. Did you ever hit/hurt your tailbone?
