The difficulty for me is the inability of so many employers to see past the lack of a college degree and look at job experience. I came from the UK with an accounting/tax background and have found it very hard to get anything other than clerical jobs. So I'm now in school full-time, supported by my wife, trying to get the paperwork that will lead to a better job.
Suppose I'd better go and do some homework....

Finding a good job as good as for any american. It was hard to survive on $40.00 a week from field picking work. It took almost a year to get a job in a farm market, where I finally made 120.00 a wk, all this being legal already. After that, I got a job in a hotel, making the great sum of 350.00 with overtime. boy I was in a roll.
along all that, it was hard to get my food for the wk, with those 40 bucks, I lost a lotta weight, yeah, this contry makes it hard to live a normal life for immigrants, is not all sweet and easy.

It's hard to learn the language when Americans don't use it correctly. Too many Americans take the lazy way out, as if they are text-messaging, like using U, R, and other abbreviations, instead of making their point as clearly as possible. This doesn't set a great example for people hoping or willing to learn the language.
