Our kids are getting married soon. We know that the groom will be our son in law and our daughter will be their daughter in law. The question is how do we as parents refer to ourselves? Are we the "out-laws"?

"Hello Jill, I am Gina's mother."
"Hello Gina, I am Jill's mother. You may call me Pam."

"Thanks. You may call me Maria."
Ask each other what their preferences are.

You're the mother/father of your son and the mother-in-law/father-in-law of their daughter and vice versa. If you're all in a group together and trying to do introductions, simply introduce yourselves as the parents of your son and her parents as the parents of their daughter. Assuming your son introduces their daughter as his wife, most people are capable of making the "in-law" connection on their own.

Hahaha! Outlaws would be a great way to introduce yourselves!

Honestly, though, you aren't anything to each other. Just "my son's mother-in-law."

You can be called "mom and dad" or by your first names.
