The Leonid meteor shower runs from 11/14 to 11/21 this year, with a peak predicted for the night of 11/18-19.

There will be little interference from the moon, because it will be a new moon phase. The Leonids are fairly faint, and very fast moving.

They aren't local.
It's not like a rainstorm.
The whole world sees them.
