In my heart I know I want to have a big diamond (not less than 1,5 carrats) engagement ring.
I do not want to pretend to be modest (like most girls) and ecxept whatever I get ........ for the rest of my life....
I want that rock!!! And I know he has the means to get it easily (he is not a regular Joe).
Should I tell him straight about it?

LOL.
Sorry for missleading you all. Just wanted to hear what you had to say in this situation.
I am married already. And very HAPPY.
I do have a ring. It is less then 1.5 carrats...
I love it anyways.
I heard this girl demanding a rock (not less than 2 c)from a guy and she got it!!! I just wondered if she was smarter then the rest of us...

And what's wrong with being a Joe ?

you should save the money and buy a house , 5 Min's after you purchase that rock ,you can't sell it for 1/4 of what you payed , bad investment , get pool with the house , that will go up in value ... Joe

Be honest with him and tell him straight up...He has a right to know you are materialistic and know absolutely nothing about True Love....He wants a committed woman to be the mother of his children, give them love tenderness and caring and having to sacrifice to give those children these things...A Big Rock would not make you a better person nor improve the quality of anyones life except put you in an enviable positin when You are drinking a 6 dollar iced Koolaid at Starbucks.... Big Rock or Big -ock

First off...you only want a big "rock" because you don't already have one. Once you have one, it's "importance" will wear off and you'll wonder why the hell you even wanted one soooo big. But yes, if you guys ever go shopping for a ring, just tell him which one you want. Don't put so much emphasis on "the bigger, the better", that will make you seem like a gold digger and quite frankly, it's the biggest turn off ever! Just show him the ring you want if you guys ever go shopping for one.

You should tell him straight up, but be careful of your motives. Realize that you are marrying him because you are in love with him, not his money and that this ring is a symbol that could never compare to nor surpass the value of his love. It is really terrible to marry for money...those things will pass away and you will be unhappy

What a MATERIALISTIC BIOTCH!!!!!!!! What's more important, an expensive engagement ring or a man who will love, Honor and cherish you the rest of your life? Never mind.....we already know your answer. Hope you choke on your big fat engagement ring while your running around showing it off to all your friends!

You need to be honest about the fact that you place a high value on material possessions...if you don't you will both end up unhappy.

You should realize that he has the right to 'want a younger hotter wife' when you hit 35 or so...

this sounds so shallow, and the fact that you are airing your wishes about the size of a gift from him in public like this tells me that you don't have very much repect for him either.
whether he has the means or not to get you that rock is beside the point- It is the thought, consideration and meaning of the gift that counts- I wouldn't get you one at all

Yes, be up front and honest. (you will have to respect his decisions when he is up front and honest with you, such as honey can we sign a prenup saying you return the huge rock at the divorce)

Greed the fruit of all evil...

Oh go ahead and ask for the HOPE diamond, you deserve it...

You should tell him exactly what you are thinking. I mean he probably already knows that he is dating a completely self-centered, shallow, materialistic chick who is only interested in him for the things he can give her, so he probably won't bee surprised.
