Magic Hat #9 is ok, but The Magic Hat Brewing Company makes MUCH better Holiday brew!! It varies by year, popularity, their mood and what has sold in the past.

Long Trail Brewing Co, Also from my home state of VT makes AWESOME BEER YEAR 'Round!!!! Their flagship brew Long Trail Ale is DELICIOUS and I am asking Santa (my parents who still live in VT) To ship me some for the Holidays as I can not get it here in Florida.

The Shed Brewing Co. in Stowe, VT makes some killer beer as well.... one of their staples is Mountain Ale which is around a 9% alcohol content... even for me after 2 of those I don't need much more to feel "festive" (DRUNK) And I'm 6'2" 270# and a moderate social drinker.

Guinness and Sam Adams are also good in markets that don't have a lot of artisan craft brews to offer.

Happy Holidays!!!!!

It's not a "holiday beer," but I think Magic Hat #9 is a great beer in the fall/winter.

The key to beer for gatherings is to find something that everyone can at least tolerate. People who usually drink higher quality beers are probably going to be revolted by something like Budweisser. Someone who usually drinks Bud is probably not going to like something more exotic like stouts or IPA's. I suggest something like Yuengling or Red Stripe. These are good medium bodies lagers that pretty much everyone can enjoy.

Sierra Nevada makes a Celebration Ale every year around the holidays. They reliably make a good spicy brew.

How about Sam Adams Old Fezziwig?

It's a bit dark but not too dark with some orange, and spice flavors. It makes you want to sit down and watch "It's a Wonderful Life", Clarence would have liked it warmed in a mug with some cinnamon.
