can rental company refuse to claim insurence because dont want to have demerit points or something like that? do the hirer have to bear all the charges from towing of the car up to send back the car to rental company. and also the rental days consider forfeited because of the car in the workshop?

only if you paid for insurance and i hope you did. if you didnt you pay for all of it

If you didn't buy insurance, you will have to pay. And lately the rentals companies have really been going after these type of things

If the accident is due to your fault, then you will have to bear the charges. However, if it's the other party fault, then the rental company will claim for third party insurance.

Claim insurance, bcos you already paid for the insurance premium, of course for insurance claim there is always a "excess" amount to be paid, Ins should include the towing costs & lost of days.

Read yr agreement carefully & Check with the insurance company.

it's up 2 u 2 decide the amount but most probably,the hirer pays all cost as it is their responsibility 2 take care of the car

Whenever you rent a car always accept the insurance option, you never know what can happen out there, I'm sorry to say that its your responsibility to fix the car, and pay all expenses, read the small print

call the rental co's insurance and offer to pay the deductable. Let them know that the rental co is giving you grief.

If you opted for the "damage coverage clause" when you rented it, you won't pay nothing...but if the only insurance covering the car was the owners, then you may owe the deductible amount of his claim, whatever that may be.
