If I were God and I wanted to take a physical form, I would become an elephant or a koala bear. Nice to see you, Matt.

Adam was made “in God’s image.” (Genesis 1:27) That did not mean that Adam resembled God in appearance. Jehovah is an invisible spirit. (John 4:24) So Jehovah does not have a body of flesh and blood. Being made in God’s image meant that Adam was created with qualities like those of God, including love, wisdom, justice, and power. Adam was like his Father in another important way in that he possessed free will. Hence, Adam was not like a machine that can perform only what it is designed or programmed to do. Instead, he could make personal decisions, choosing between right and wrong. If he had chosen to obey God, he would have lived forever in Paradise on earth.

Ok I cant understand very well what the question is.But I can see your not happy about yourself.Hey be glad to be alive because god is given you a chance to turn to him or else youll go tohell. WHen the end comes all those who died in christ will rise from the dead and in perfect form no scars no nothing the perfect thing you are suppose to look like.Remeber the reason we have scars is because of sins of ourselves and others but in the end all sin will be gone and live in peace if you believe in Jesus that he died for your sins.Be glad to have understanding of God's grace even though bad things happen God is there to help you cant blame him because he created us to be loving.God himself who came here as human Jesus was said to be unattractive but that didnt stop him he did what he came here for.

What an idiotic question.

"Remember he has a choice"

You said "he"

So.... how is it vanity? If "he" said in the book where you get this idea...... "man was formed in his image" Then It couldnt be "vanity" we didnt "think" it..... God said it. Duh.

What makes a swan or butterfly "better" than a human? What do you base this assumption? Isnt it MORE vain to think this is a GOOD philosphical question??? ( especially since its very foundation is unreasonable? )

In his image is not meant to be interpreted as a physical image.

God is spirit. Spirit is non physical so it can not be seen so there is no visible image.

It is intended to refer to the spiritual part of us or the soul. Your soul is spirit just like God.

This is what is meant by in his image and likeness.

Love and blessings Don

Genesis 1:27
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

It's not that God resembles man, but that man resembles God. We have the attributes of God, just in smaller degree and imperfectly. God has all knowledge, we have limited knowledge. God is present everywhere at the same time, we are present here only in the present, not the past and future. God has all power, we have limited power. God is perfect, we are imperfect.

John 4:24
"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

God does not resemble us in our bodily form, we resemble him in the attributes of personality and we have a spirit as God is Spirit.

It depends on whether you think it was the exterior image or the interior image that was being referred to.

If I were the Divine and could choose any form I would (grin)

No. Nature is beautiful, but the human body is unbelievably great. Everything functions for a reason, and all parts works together to compliment each other. It is nothing short of a miracle.

In the Bible, a God-breathed book, he said he created us in his image.

What arrogant pipsqueak would dare to contradict the clear declaration of God Himself Who said "Let us make Man after our image and after our likeness" ? Haven't I heard this story before? "Yea, has God said...?" (Genesis 1:26; 3:1)
