Watch "The "Aviator" with Leonardo Di Caprio. It's a great movie about Howard Hughes and the story of the Spruce Goose.
Also, an older film called "The Amazing Howard Hughes" with Tommy Lee Jones is also very good. Watching the two gives your a real insight into his life.

Hi, Howard Huges Pilot
Merle Coffee, Radio Operator and Electrician
Don Smith, Flight Engineer
John Glen, Flight Mechanic
James McNamara Reporter (who actually broadcast the flight on live radio). There were other News reporters on board, and it is said several stowaways!
The flight was a surprise as it was only to be a Engine run up and taxi test!
