Disneyland tickets are really expensive. They do give discounts to Southern California residents if you have a California ID and a Southern California zipcode--but still it's not much of a discount. A regular 1 day hopper pass costs $83 which gets you into both California Adventure and the Disneyland park. If you only want to go to one park, it's $63. For a Southern California resident, you get the hopper discount for $78--a $5 discount.

How to get cheap tickets ... get to know someone who works for Disneyland and they can get you in for free on certain dates because they can bring up to 3 people free/month or something like that. My friend who works at Disneyland got me in free last month and some of his fellow coworkers who don't have friends to get in for free usually sell their tickets cheaper at usually 1/2 the cost to get in. The way it works is that you meet up with the Disneyland employee and they check you in and you get a green ticket to go to both parks. If you don't have friends, and live close enough you can work for the park, and expect to work hard. Hope that helps!

If you are close to Disneyland and like to go more than a few times a year, it could be worth getting a Southern California Annual Pass. You will have to prove you live in S.Cal then it is $154 for 220-days entrance (remainder of the 365 are blocked). The blockout dates are basically every Saturday throughout the year, almost all days of the summer (June, July, Aug), and all days during Peak/holiday periods (spring break, Xmas, etc). So you can go on weekdays and Sundays during non-Peak periods as much as you want.

Usually, Disneyland gives discounts to Southern California residents. I believe you have to carry an ID that shows that you live within a zip code range. You can also get discounts through certain outlets, such as university book stores which give group discounts.

I've never heard of that. I don't think it's true. The only way you can get cheap tickets is if someone you know works for the Disney Company, like design or something.
