No. But if you follow Christ and have the opportunity, then it is an outward symbol of your rebirth in Christ.

Before, i used to believe that only Christians who are baptized only go to heaven. But, during my college days, the late Pope John Paul II said that there is salvation outside the Church, meaning not only we baptized Christians can go to heaven. As long as you believe in God and do good things surely, you go to heaven.

Even Jesus was baptized...well...I will leave that decision for God.

I was baptized as a child, but that is the decision no one can really do to you for you to be able to go to heaven. Children belong to God anyway, but when you start to understand things, then it is your choice. I got baptized again. I love my Lord, He is my Savior. I want to be with Him forever.

Yes. The question was asked in the book of Acts, "Men and bretheren, what must we do to be saved?" The answer was, "Then Peter said unto them, Repent AND BE BAPTIZED everyone of you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Pretty obvious if you ask me!

I think it betters your chances into getting into heaven, but i dont think you have to. As long as you give your life to god and praise him i'd say u did as he ask and will get in. Getting baptized is to clean your sins away, and make you pure, right...u can simply ask God to forgive you for your sins and know thet he will...which is the same thing (kinda)

Baptised in Water? No.
It is just an Outward Sign that you Accepted Jesus as your Saviour.

Baptised with the Holy Spirit?
Yes, that is what happens to Everyone who Asks Jesus to Save them and are Sincere about it.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit happens at the Point you get Saved.

Being "Filled with the Holy Spirit" is the Second Step and you have to Ask for that Too.

This guy didn't have an opportunity to be baptized.

Luke 23:38-43 (New American Standard Bible)

38One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, "Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!"

40But the other answered, and rebuking him said, "Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?

41"And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong."

42And he was saying, "Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!"

43And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."

while the Jews stated baptism, they have been talking approximately an action which shown or wide-unfold a non secular determination that they had already made. while John the Baptist became baptizing, the individuals had spoke back to his message to "repent for the dominion of heaven is handy." I as quickly as study in the process the completed new testomony and reported the placement and which ability each and every time baptism became reported. approximately 0.5 the time while human beings have been "stored" this is prevalent the message of Jesus and being born returned for forgiveness of sins, baptism observed. in the different 0.5 of the circumstances, it became no longer reported. while Jesus became talking with reference to the disciples who might have the main skill interior the recent kingdom, he asked them in the event that they might settle for his cup (which ability, are you able to perceive with me thoroughly). Baptism is stated interior the comparable way-that's a actual demonstration of my determination to settle for or perceive with Jesus thoroughly. i don't have self belief that baptism is mandatory for salvation. Jesus did no longer say Whosoever believes in me and is baptized shall have eternal existence!

that's been a major issue in my faith. i always wondered...if a baby is born to someone who has never known the concept of God and Jesus and Mary and Heaven, and Hell, how could they be born to original sin and be doomed to hell if they were ignorant of the consequences? nobody could ever answer that question for me satisfactorily. i would hope and pray that that baby would go to heaven if it died while still a baby.

The Bible states it clearly - no-one enters the kingdom unless he be born of WATER and the SPIRIT, a clear reference to the holy sacrament of Baptism.
