I have severe eczema, too. I've gotten cremes, so it sometimes lessens the rashes/hives... there isn't a real cure for it. If you don't want to see a skin doctor for prescribed creme, you can use Neosporin creme.

I suffer from eczema as well. The best thing for itching is to take an allergy pill, such as Claritin (it's non drowsy). This will help the hives as well. Hydrocortisone cream will also help with the itching. I believe bathing might make it worse, I would take a quick shower and put the hydrocortisone directly on the spots that are itching you.

You have probably heard of Aveeno Bath. The main ingredient in this is oatmeal which helps with dry and itchy skin. You can purchase this product of make it yourself by putting plain, uncooked oatmeal in an old, clean rag and tie or rubberband it into a closed pouch. Turn on your bath and let the pouch soak in the tub. Squeeze it every now and then to release the oatmeal juice into the water. Also, try to only use a very mild soap like Dove or Aveeno. I would also use Aveeno lotion or a generic brand of Aveeno. The colloidal oatmeal really helps. Good Luck!

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

Best Eczema Treatment?

Sometimes a pinched nerve can be from stress or sleeping in the wrong position. I have double whiplash and get pinches and tight muscles..I use an ointment called Tiger Balm, it's sold at Walmart stores, usually around 3.00 and it's got a great menthol smell to it, it usually relaxes me and I sleep great when I use it so when I get up the next morning, the pinch is gone. If you use the stuff, wear and old t-shirt as it does stain clothes. I've tried hundreds of stuff and found this worked the best. If you don't have a walmart, most pharmacies will know what it is. Good Luck!

There are several things I would recommend. You should try applying a bit of Sea Breeze several times each day. Sea Breeze is an inexpensive astringent available in any drug store.
You could also do what I recommend in the salon for children's cradle cap: Put some baby oil on the affected areas and let it sit for several minutes. You could then try brushing the areas gently with a soft tooth brush.

Lastly, you could make a mask of plain ole' oatmeal and apply that to the affected areas. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes and rinse with warm water.

Hope that helps!

I am a nanny and the little boy I watch has eczema. The doctor told me to use a loofa or a sand stone (not sure if that is what it is called...people use them on their feet) on his arms, gently, when he is in the shower and then when he is done to keep it lubed up as much as possible. He suggested using Eucerin Original Moisturizing Cream. Hope this helps you feel better! Good luck!
