It is an urban myth that people should drink 8 glasses of water a day. A respected columnist once wrote about the origin of this myth - a pseudo-scientific conclusion based on circumstantial facts - but I forget the details and tried but could not retrieve the article.
Trust your body. Drink only when you feel like drinking!

You won't get dehydrated if you don't drink 8 glasses pure water every day. Food also has water in it, and almost every drink is water-based. So unless you start noticing adverse effects, you should be fine... unless those 'lots of drinks' are mostly alcoholic. If that is the case, then that is not good.
I personally do not drink much water at all, although I do drink quite a bit of fruit juice, and I abstain from alcohol and try to avoid soda. I do not have any problems with dehydration even though I don't fill up and drink 8 glasses of water from the tap every day.
In fact, to do something like that would be superfluous. In the summer, you should drink more water, especially on very hot days. But otherwise, it is not really necessary to drink plain water, although it can't hurt you at all. If you elect to drink water with your meals, you will not only save money in restaurants, but you will also not take in as much sugar, which is better for your teeth.
Note also that the fluroide compounds used to treat tap water have some dental benefits, so you might want to drink tap water once in a while, if you live in an area where you have access to clean drinking water.

You can get dehydrated. The biggest fear with dehydration in the first trimester, and part of the second, is that there’s not enough amniotic fluid for baby – a significant lack of amniotic fluid can cause baby to lay against the uterus (instead of floating in the amniotic fluid) which could lead to deformities of the arms, legs, and feet. During the second and third trimester dehydration can lead to premature labor. Actually, dehydration is one of the three most common reasons for labor contractions (the other two are bladder infections and the impending birth of the baby hopefully at full term and without complications.) You don't have to drink just water. You can drink other fluids as well. I HATE water. My Dr said it was okay for me to drink a 32 ounce cup of water and also some juices and milk daily. To get my 64 ounces. You also take in 4 cups a day of water just in the foods you eat.

Water is one of the most important element if you want to burn fat and lose weight. It's because water helps to the metabolism process. If your body is lack of water, it make your body keep toxin in your body. the more toxins in your body the more difficult for you to lose weight!
Remember, if you don’t take enough water, then your body can’t burn fat easier.
