I kinda hate to ask this question, but here I go....

I was looking at footage of some of the other members/leaders of that church. I know I'm going to get raked over the coals for saying this, but a lot of them "look gay." Maybe I'm just stereotyping and there's no such thing as "looking gay." But well, they look and act somewhat effeminate. In particular, I'm thinking of this guy Ross Parsley that is actually taking over temporarily for Ted Haggard.

What do you think?

I apologize if this offends anyone. I realize not all gay men are effeminate. But I do happen to know several who are. I'm not putting them down at all.

Ignoring the "Gays are effeminate" thing, I think that there are probably a fair number of Gay members of fundamentalist religions. It seems to me that many of the biggest homophobes are deeply closeted men. By being strongly against homosexuality the think they will convince people of their own heterosexuality.

First, yes, you're stereotyping. There is a "gay look," and it's all about style and fashion comparable to the "leather look" and the "cowboy look."

Second, not only is it possible for other leaders of New Life Church to be gay or bisexual, but it's possible on a global scale. Statistics show something like 10 % of the american population is gay (depending on the source, this is an average of many sources): however, as I understand statistics and polls, they are only as good as the number and quality of responses.

I'm not sure what a gay person looks like, but I was raised catholic and I can spot a hypocrite a mile away.

The first time I saw Haggard I knew he was one, but I had no idea what a big one he was.

Mister, Gays are an abomination himself.

How could he say it with such a straight face?

Love and blessings Don

Well... you will get "raked" by some... here's the facts: about ten percent of humans are gay... therefore there are certainly more gays in that church. Just like there are gay people in your class, at your workplace, and in your neighborhood. Did you spot those ones, too?

Being in th closet is a depressing life. As overtly gay as i'm now, I undergo in concepts once I first took male hormones and found out my sexuality I had to maintain it a secret at domicile because of the fact i replaced into afraid my mom and dad might end procuring my testosterone remedies. i replaced into out in each component of my life (college, artwork, friends) different than at domicile. It drove me loopy.

I'm less concerned what someone's sexual orientation is than I am whether or not they're seeking God's will instead of their own. If they're seeking God's will first, it won't matter what their sexual orientation is because they won't be self-seeking.

For what it's worth, I posted an entry about Haggard on my blog yesterday. Check out the first link below.

Gosh, you are so right, the one guy who plays guitar I totally thought it was a woman until I read his name. who knows, who would've thought the pastor was gay when he was so against it.
