Although the Bible does mention historical and scientific facts (and is correct when it does so), its main purpose is not to be a history, or science book. Its mainly meant to reveal God, His nature and His will to mankind.
2Timothy 3:16 states that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"
Based upon the type of question that you asked I am concluding that you are interested in the Bible's relationship to science. I have included three creation science websites that can answer similar questions that you might have.

Keep asking good questions and ignore those who make it seem like a person can't be both a Biblical Christian and scientifically correct. Some of the greatest scientists in history were Christians.

The last ice age ended tens of thousands of years ago. According to the bible, earth didn't exist until around 5000 years ago. So the writers of the bible wouldn't know anything about ice ages as the earth didn't exist when they occured.

the bible was not written to validate or not validate the history of earth and its patterns. It was written for christians and to validate Jesus as the son of God. the whole core is about this and not the weather. Yes it speaks of creation but the core is not about this and the focus is on what it is about

It is not written to be a modern scientific manual. It was written to relay a message of God to the human soul.
The purpose is different, science explores the external world to the human intellect of reason.
The Bible explores the inner mind of the human soul to the human intellect of reason.
