Will they get along or will they attack each other

Sure. They could be great friends, depending on what breed of hen you have. Larger laying breeds, like Orpingtons, tent to be very pecky. (And big!) Smaller game hens such as B.B. Reds and other bantams may be better off for the cockateel. Watch them whenever they're together for the first few days. Once they've established the pecking order it should be fine. Try putting their cages together and if they get at each other through the bars probably not a great idea! Also, if your hen gets "broody" (wants to hatch her eggs) it's not a great idea to have her with other birds. (Momma bear!) You can tell if she's broody if she: pulls her chest feathers out, coos and puffs up when you approach her, or gets very thin while sitting on eggs nonstop. You can't really prevent this, though my hens got over it after a few days if I kept removing the eggs. Well, good luck, but don't be to optimistic and leave them alone at first! Also, it might be better for them to grow up together (start with a pullet(female chicken under a year old) about the size of the cockateel)

I had a rooster once; he couldn't be kept with other birds because he would peck randomly. He didn't seem to mean any harm. He grew up with 3 quail chicks, and they all thought they were clutch-mates, but as he grew I saw he was pecking the quail and it would be dangerous. The quail weren't afraid of him, probably because they were raised with him, so I had to separate them. If they would have kept any distance from him, there wouldn't have been a problem because he wasn't really aggressive.
Chickens and quail seem to both have the same lack of brain-power. Cockatiels are much smarter, so it might work; besides, a hen might be different from a rooster.

I have 2 lady parakeets and one male cockatiel, he's the more youthful one. My lady parakeets became beating my male cockatiel. Now he in basic terms must be with them and they are turning out to be used to at least one yet another. If I take him out of the cage they get mad and bite me.
