Jihad is battle of self defense. if your country is invaded by foreign invaders, it's your duty to fight them until they get out of your country.
this is what Jihad is.

and the Quran doesn't justify terrorism one bit.
killing INNOCENTS is murder and a great offense to God.

PS: Jihad has many other forms too.
example,
# Jihad of the heart/soul (jihad bin nafs/qalb) is an inner struggle of good against evil in the mind, through concepts such as tawhid.
# Jihad by the tongue (jihad bil lisan) is a struggle of good against evil waged by writing and speech, such as in the form of dawah (proselytizing), Khutbas (sermons), et al.
# Jihad by the pen and knowledge (jihad bil qalam/ilm) is a struggle for good against evil through scholarly study of Islam, ijtihad (legal reasoning), and through sciences (such as medical sciences).
# Jihad by the hand (jihad bil yad) refers to a struggle of good against evil waged by actions or with one's wealth, such as going on the Hajj pilgrimage (seen as the best jihad for women), taking care of elderly parents, providing funding for jihad, political activity for furthering the cause of Islam, stopping evil by force, or espionage.
peace.

The concept of Jihad does not require Muslims to propagate their religion by force. Jihad simply means "struggle", or struggle in the way of God. Jihad includes a spiritual struggle that takes place in the soul of man against his own lust, greed and other evil passions.

The better known aspect of Jihad is fighting for self defence, or for the establishment of justice, for the safeguarding of freedom etc. Islam views this fight as the last option, taken up only when all other courses are closed. There is a misunderstanding propagated by vested interests that Islam wants its adherents to fight against Non-Muslims. This is not true.

What Islam teaches is to do da'wa or peaceful propagation of its teachings. The Qur'an, which is the Holy Book of the Muslims says:

Let there be no compulsion in religion.
Say the Truth is from your Lord; whoever wishes to believe, let him believe; and whoever wishes to disbelieve, let him disbelieve.

and islam doesn't justify terror in any any way , there are so many verses in islam that is against killing the innocent ppl and gives human rights , and not only the quran , also the prophet(pbuh) sayings and through his life u can see that.

The word "Jihad" means struggle, or to be specific, striving in the cause of God. Any struggle done in day-to-day life to please God can be considered Jihad. One of the highest levels of Jihad is to stand up to a tyrant and speak a word of truth. Control of the self from wrong doings is also a great Jihad. One of the forms of Jihad is to take up arms in defense of Islam or a Muslim country when Islam is attacked. This kind of Jihad has to be declared by the religious leadership or by a Muslim head of state who is following the Quran and Sunnah.

No where does Islam or the Qur'an enjoin the killing of innocents. The Qur’an says: «"Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress limits. God does not love transgressors." »(Qur’an Chapter 2: Verse 190) And also, «"If they seek peace, then seek you peace. And trust in God for He is the One that heareth and knoweth all things."» (Qur’an, Chapter 8: Verse 61). War, therefore, is a last resort, and is subject to the rigorous conditions laid down by the sacred law.

Jihad is greatly misinterpreted in usa. Jihad in the US has come to mean holy war which its not. Its a struggle within yourself, a peaceful struggle with a pen or with your words or with yourself. killing innocent people or even hurting someones feelings is a sin. suicide is a sin too so i don't know how the crazy terrorists are justifying themselves. The Quran says absolutely nothing about hurting people. God help them.

Jihad means a holy war. It is my understanding that the quran teaches that infidels should be destroyed. These infidels are anyone that does not accept the teachings of Mohammed or the Quran. That includes innocent people. So I'd say that the Quran teaches terrorism.

Our (the USA) goverment has abused this word greatly. It does not mean an attack. A Jihad litterally means "inner battle" the war of the conscience.

Jihad is holy war, and no, the Koran does not advocate violence in any way. Towel heads just use this as an excuse.
