When someone has a nervous breakdown, they become unable to function in their daily lives. There can be many different symptoms including crying, isolation, anger, lack of motivation, and inability to express themselves. How long it lasts depends on the cause, the person, and the quality of care that they receive. Could be anywhere from a few hours to a few months and in some rare occasions could last longer than that.
