how long should it take for someone to brush their teeth?

I use a Sonicare which runs for 2 mins (by default). I then run it again for 30 more secs and go through my whole mouth. But since Sonicare is a superior toothbrush i suggest brushing for about 4 mins if you are using a manual brush.

Dentists generally recommend that teeth should be brushed for
between 3 and 4 minutes at least twice a day, that's in the morning and before
going to bed. You could use an egg timer to measure your brushing time or
perhaps you'd prefer to brush your teeth whilst listening to the radio as most
modern songs are about 3 minutes long.

i read somewhere in a magazine before it should say not more than 3 minutes and not to brush too hard as well. or it will make the gums more sensitive and bleed easily. or ask your dentist

they say 20 times up 20 times down so however long that takes lol
