Very true! And with that logic, we really don't know if the Roman Empire ever existed, if Julius Ceaser really lived or died, and if anything in history is really true or not.

In reality, there are over 25,000 original documents of the man called Jesus. Many of these documents were recorded within 100 years of his life. The next closest book (Galic Wars) has about 600 copies, all written 1,000 years after the events.

So, all we have are historical documents. Funny how we choose to believe all we read in History books about Ceaser, but choose to selectively not beleive in the historical Jesus. If you don't beleive in the one, you must discard the others, because the life of Jesus is the most highly documented event in ancient history by far.

For the first 1000 years, most people learned of Jesus in the manner that Jesus taught. Faith in actions....Liturgy and rituals.

Many could not read, so this was the easiest method of conveying the story.

Later the Bible was available to those who could read, which were still very few.

That is why you will never find Bible Alone dogma in the Bible itself. It is a man made invention.

And people say the catholic church added stuff! What a whopper.

Because His disciples or apostles wrote of what he said and did. If you had read the new testament you would realize that the story is there more than once as more than one apostle wrote about it and are very similar, to one another.

It is more important to try and find the truth through his words and parables than to quible over menial things, the message is one of love for everyone, isn't that better and easier to understand than trying to lint pick every word. There is much there that we can take in today's life, but obviously the world is looking for a quick fix to problems and refuse to admit how simple the truth can be, let it set you free, believe and listen to the words they are too wise for comprehension sometimes but you have to remember that Jesus was God's son and was baptised in the Holy Spirit. How else could he have endured such an unbelieving and hard hearted generation so that we all could be saved those who choose to believe in the great sacrifice. Peace be with you.

Thank you It appears that way when most of the bible is Paul Paulianity. The Christian Essenes where being killed by the Romans and others who didn't believe in Christ. So they wen underground and took the teachings that Christ said with them (the dead sea scrolls) and the Essene Gospel of Peach. Christ was an Essene not a Jew as so many think. The teachings have been found and are in line with the ancient Vedic teachings with go back 5,000 years and more at the time of Krishna's appearance. So that is how we can check their authenticity. Go to http://www.essene.org for the truth on Christ and what the Catholic church does not want you to know for universal truths and Vedic teachings go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com

we don't. the spech he is crdited with comes from books and writings that were written years after his death. they were qoutes of what is alledged to have been said, and are compilations from stories told from person to person and are not supposed to be taken as literally spooken by him. furthermore, the books of mathew, mark, and luke, may have all been versions using an earlier text as a source, and written for different groups from areas other than palestine.
the book of john is the only one which may have been written at the time prior to the destruction of the temple of soloman the others were written later, near the end of the century.

Historians of the time, non Christians like Josephus, have written that Jesus did exist and did do miracles.

We know what He said because 4 of his disciples (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) wrote down there acounts of what happened.

He wrote in the sand. However, I do not think that we will be able to see what He wrote with our present technology. His witnesses did however, had scribe write down what they dictated to them.

I seen a episode of X-files where they found an old clay pot that was being made in the presence of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, his voice was imprinted into the clay pot as it spun like sound onto a record. A laser was used to read the fine groves in the clay pot to play back Jesus's voice, which ultimately lead to many zombies rising from the dead and attacking people.

You make a very good point, one that many seem to want to over look but if I were to answer for another I would say it takes faith.
