and also i dont really want to have long ones so can u cut them if the get to long without having to get dreadlocks over again

It's easiest to work with hair that is the length ( or longer) of your pinky finger.

there is no right length but your hair will be approx: 1/3 the legth it is at the start so if you can live with that go for it and yes you can cut them once they start to grow have fun Buy Knotty boys dread wax if your gonna buy sumthing its the best go to the web site it'll tell you where to buy in your area

I'd say you should have hair atleast the length of your chin before dreading.
