I work at a restaurant and found that out today and served a pregnant lady multiple shots. It was weird, and she went out for a smoke break very often.

The law varies from state to state, and in different countries. In some places women are not allowed to drink (pregnant or not), in other countries alcohol is prohibited for all.

Yep; drinking alcohol is only against the law if you are under 21. Drinking alcohol while pregnant is not a good idea, but you can't tell someone who's of legal age how to conduct their own business. Also, having one--ONE--glass of wine, once in awhile during pregnancy, is not going to cause any harm. Having said that, the lady you served today wasn't very wise, in my opinion! Smoking AND drinking multiple shots while pregnant is just plain foolish.

Interesting. However establishments can refuse to serve anyone. If someone is getting too drunk, the bar can cut them off. That is a health decision for the customer, I wonder if it could be equated as a health risk for the lady after one or two shots?

Don't you also have the right to refuse service to anyone? I thought all bars, restaurants and even grocery stores had the option to refuse service, all you have to do is put a sign on the door that you have the option.

While you may disagree with her decision to drink, it is your job to serve her.

Did she eat healthy? You can no more say hey that double cheeseburger is bad for you. Have the veggie plate....
you can't place your values on the public when you are at work. I am not saying that I agree with what she was doing, but she broke no laws, and was a paying customer.

Some women just don't care about their bodies or their baby. The baby could be born with fetal Alcohol syndrome. Its the child that suffers, not her. And she smokes. God help this poor helpless child. Their are so many people who want children and can't have them, then their are people like her, that don't deserve a child. When will people learn.

You may feel the need to report such behavior if you are worried about the unborn child, only make sure that the reason she had a belly is because she was pregnant and not because she has some type of cancer or disease. Some types of diseases and cancer make women appear pregnant because of the bloating.

If you know for a fact that she is pregnant and know her name report her to child services you know the drinking won't stop once the infant is born. Remember it takes a village to raise a child.

mmm... It's sad really. Apparently it's due to the "right" to do what we want to our own bodies.
What about the baby's right to a normal life? Oh but wait, there are still too many people out there that don't consider an unborn child to be a "person".
I suppose that's why the abortion debate still exists.

the lady because of the fact she isnt taking good care of herself or unborn toddler as she places the two in harm's way. The bartender is doing his interest and it relatively is not his duty to tell her good from incorrect because of the fact she is an person and its no longer technically against the regulation so the bartender isnt breaking any regulations.
