Take a look at US census figures on the detailed level. You will see that census tracts (neighborhoods) with highly educated people (college basic and advanced degrees) are also ones that have the highest family incomes and the priciest houses.

A larger majority of higher earning jobs require at least a college degree. Of course, you'll have your exceptions like the Fast Food industries where the multibillionaires don't even have a high school GED, but the VAST majority of higher paid workers (like doctors/lawyers/businessman) have at least a graduate college degree.

For years did the same job as others but was paid less because I hadn't finished the degree. Finished the degree & received substantial financial upgrades.
Although not everyone with a degree will make more money. There are people who get a degree but lack other things so they fail to get the jobs they seek (i.e. someone with an ed degree who can't pass the state exams).

A person with no college degree can get a good paying entry-level job and advance to a great salary, say $50K. However, it may be hard for this same person to find other employment in a new field with the same salary expectations because the new employer may be leary to pay $50K to someone who has no experience AND no college degree. Therefore, it is to your advantage to be armed with a college degree.

working as a fast food restraunt, you will not drive a BMW like the cardiologist, working at the car wash you will not take vacations to lavish islands such as a lawyer. Working for the local factory you will not send your children to private school such as the CEO of the factory. Working cleaning hotel rooms at a resort means you are not a guest such as the nurses, teachers, vets, and other professionals staying there.... stay in school and it will be cool
