We won't know unless someone is cloned. Even then, how would we know?

The indicator of a soul is a conscience and knowledge of right and wrong. For example, animals don't have this ability so they don't have souls.

Would the cloned person have this capability? We can only observe if and when it happens. Hopefully it doesn't.

The soul is the mind, will, character and intellect. All of those aspects are nurtured and trained. The mind is not the brain the brain is where the mind resides. It is the transmitter and receiver either from outside resourses or the inner man, spirit that is made in the image of God. The image of God has to be enlightened to in the spirit of man by accepting the Christ aspect of the God head. When this happens then the soul is taught by the spirit or from within. If not taught from within then the soul is a product of it's environment. So cloned or not the soul will be present. Will it have a reflection of God and a spirit would be the issue. If not then we are going to create a bunch of characters that are not playing with all that is avalible to humans. All humans that come from the creators way, are created with a God shaped void in them. the only thing that will fit in that void is God. If that God shaped void is not present then how will the clone ever achieve knowledge of who they really are. Perhaps the God shaped void is in every cell and in that case the clone is just taking what God made and changing the way the process is started. I think that we need to know the answer to the above question before we go playing with the process. By the way the so called God shaped void is not really a void at all. God is already in us but must be illuminated by accepting the Truth that Jesus came here to bring back to man. When that happens then man is born again and the image of God is who they are and will influence the mind and the intellect and the will and the character. Science and man can attain just about anything they can think of but they cannot maintain NOTHING with out the Spirit of God.

Human beings are successfully cloned all the time. We call them twins, triplets, etc. As for whether they will have a soul, it depends on whether you think humans have a soul. As to whether they are two independent, autonomous human beings, it is beyond doubt.

The soul is an abstract concept, developed by humanity. So the only way the clone would have one, is if it believed it did.

Yes. I believe he/she will which is why I disagree with using clones in hospitals to provide vital organs. I think it is wrong.

to my knowledge there isn't a way to test for the existence of a soul (i personally don't think they exist) so it would be impossible to know.
