I'd like to get away from my folks and have some fun at the same time. None of my friends really have a "party pad" or anything of the like, so I was wondering if I'd be able to have a get together with friends at a hotel.

In most states you have to be at least 18 to rent a room and most hotels are now requiring credit cards (some do still accept cash but be prepared to pay a deposit, especially if you want anything nicer than a roach motel). If you party too much and are too loud the hotel does have the right to kick you out AND you still have to pay for the room. They can also charge you for any damages to the hotel. Make sure that you read ALL the information on the reg card when you check in (some hotels have a no party clause). I work in a hotel, so my advice is to try to make it a Sunday night if you can. It's usually the slowest night in the hotel industry and they are more likely to let you have fun if there aren't as many people for you to disturb. Also, some hotels do charge an excessive cleaning fee so even though the other chick says you don't have to clean up, you might be charged for the hotel to do it for you.

You won't be able to have much of a party. Most places won't allow people in without room keys, or they have a guest limit. If you're minors, and drinking, you'll be arrested if anoyone at the hotel catches you. If you make too much noise, and neighbors complain, you'll get kicked out.

So, if you all want to drink soda and watch a movie, go for it. Anything more exciting probably won't be tolerated.

I worked in a hotel before, and believe me, eyebrows are raised when people pay in cash. Also, if there are complaints by other guests for noise or a lot of activity in and out of the room- the hotel is obligated to check it out. If it's bad- we were told to call the police. So...

Okay, but seriously don't let it out of control. Also, don't leave a HORRID mess- the ladies who do housekeeping really don't get paid enough to clean up un-necessary and ridiculous messes.

if you are underage i would highly recommend against it (i know buzz killer me). this action will, in most instances cause more harm than good.if your parents are an open minded sort of guys try to have the "party" at your house. i know that it isn't as free as you may like, but it would be better for you and all concerned. just a question to you.. what would you do if a fellow party person went and got drunk and got themselves killed or others while driving home? or if they drank too much and died
from alcohol poisoning? there are a lot of angles to look at this,
just make sure that you make the right ones. and by the way i have partied with the best but i always had my back covered.

Just remember, go to a place where you don't have to use a credit card, pay cash! The best thing is, you don't have to clean up the mess!! Go for it! Have a blast! Live while you are young enough to enjoy it!!...p.s. If you really want to have fun, don't worry about the "legalities"!!!.....
