It depends on the medication. Many are safe but not best, there are some that are safe for 2nd and 3rd trimesters not 1st. You need to give this question to your caregiver, Doctor. Also Pharmicists are alsways good to ask. They actually know more about drugs than Dr.s that is what they are trained in.
But i still think you should ask your Doctor!
Example: Claritin is safe....but antihistimines are to dry up and that is not what is best when you are pregnant. We need all the fluids we can get during this time. Just be very wise, you have a life inside of you and it receives everything you do!

Could you be more specific - why are you considering meds??? In the first trimester the baby is doing alot of developing and is partic. vulnerable to toxins. Please consult with your doctor re meds and then if you get them also ask the pharmasist to be sure - there is a drug classification for the safety of meds that dr and pharmasist should have. My understanding is that class A is considered safe and the classess following this (i.e B, C D ......) are less safe in that order.
Also, herbal meds also have side effects that can cause problems (i.e. uterin contractions) so check into these also.
Also drugs that you can buy off the shelf can have side effects so also be sure to check into these.

That depends on what kind of medication. I suggest you consult a doctor and ask him/her what they think and suggest. If the medication isn't required than maybe it wouldn't hurt to not use it.

Not unless you are directed to by a doctor. Anything WITHOUT aspirin should be okay, but check with the doc. first.
