Hi there...lilies are considered a toxic plant to cats. Here's a list of all the toxic plants for cats: http://www.cfainc.org/articles/plants.html

Here's a list of plants which are considered non-toxic to cats: http://www.cfainc.org/articles/plants-non-toxic.html

The toxins in poisonous plants have varied effects on individual cats. Some cats may be more sensitive to them, and will exhibit more severe symptoms. The symptoms range from a skin rash or irritation to convulsions, but the most common signs of poisoning are vomiting and diarrhea.
Contact your vet and give them as much information as possible:

1. What type of plant was eaten (if you know the name).
2. When you suspect your cat ate it.
3. What symptoms he is showing.

If your vet wants to see your cat, if at all possible bring the plant or part of the plant with you. In addition, should anything have been expelled in your cat's vomit or fecal matter, your vet will ask that this be brought in for examination.

Yes, Lilies are poisonous to cats. I just went through this last month with one of my cats. My mother-in-law passed away and we received a Peace Lily. Little did I know my cat had been chewing on its leaves, I found her drooling and foaming at the mouth and there were obvious bite marks on my plant. My vet told me that Lilies are toxic, but *usually* are not fatal. Lilies cause foaming, drooling, vomiting, and diarrhea in cats. Needless to say my cat was very uncomfortable, but she is okay now :) We were given an antibiotic (just to be safe) and I got rid of the plant...better safe than sorry if you ask me!

I went out and bought some pet grass the following day, she loves to chew on plants so she has been very happy!

Yes although before I realised this I often had lillies in vases at home and my cats didn't come to any harm. I was fortunate they didn't nibble at te leaves or flowers as that could have killed them. Needless to say I don't buy lillies any more! The pollen makes such a mess anyway.

I have a lovely big Arum Lily bush (plant?) in my back garden. I also have a cat who is very healthy. She doesn't eat the Lily but I have seen her eating grass. Anyway, they are living proof that these creatures can coexist in the same place.

Some types of plants are highly toxic to cats (and humans, for that matter). When in doubt, keep your plants away from your cats. If you think that your cat has ingested something toxic, contact your vet immediately.

Absolutely deadly. That and the Christmas plant, poinsettia, are the two most dangerous. Even a small amount can bring about a rapid death.

Yes.
Both the flower and the green parts.
They make the cat's kidneys fail.

The pollen is fatal. If your cat gets even a dab of pollen on its fur then licks itself clean it will die. Please take this seriously.
If you have lillies then cut off the stamens and remove all the pollen.
