Well, i have been painting since i was 8 but in the past 2 years i have whipped out quite a few things including watercolors, oils, and pencils... Now im getting a large inventory of pieces (around 50 or so) and i want to start selling some.. im not realy emotionally attached to any of them so it wont be that hard to "give them up" but i dont want the to go for no money. I know I'm only 15 but i love the arts and, not to be conceited, but some of my stuff is pretty decent. If you would like to see some follow this link... http://www.nikoncafe.com/vforums/showthread.php?t=93451 anyways... i live in a small town of about 5k and dont really know how to get my name out there and my stuff for people to see, so i dont know where i could "advertise" if you have any ideas of what i could do to try to promote myself to selling some of my pieces i would appreciate the the time. If it helps, i live about 45 minutes from Cleveland Ohio, or about 2 1/2 hours from columbus.

Hi:

I took a look at your link, and you are really very good for only being 15! You might try auctioning a piece or two on Ebay to just some exposure - if you go that route, be sure to list your link to more work. Also, check out the free artist community, wetcanvas.com. There are 92,000 artist members worldwide, and there are many who auction pieces on Ebay and use a common keyword of W4C in their listings. There are many different forums for various types of artwork that may help you in your progress.

You might also want to start thinking about going to an art school like the Kansas City Art Institute or another school like that.

I truly hope this helps, and the best of luck to you on this! Keep in touch if you want! :)

I'm an artist. In my opinion you are better than myself. What you need to do is, if you don't have any saved up money, save some up , about 100 dollars or so. Find a art museum. The way that it will work is you will pay the owner so much money for so much space for your paintings to hang. They may have to overview them to make sure that it's what they want, but your good, you should have no problems with that. They will give you so much space to hang your paintings for sale. Depending on size you can give them a price. If they think you can get more, they'll price them up. They will recieve a percentage of what you make. It's a good start. Also, my biggest suggestion is to go to college when you get to that time in your life. It's very important. Your good and the more you learn, the better you'll get. Stay with it. It's great to see real talent. Some museums have just plain crap in them. Putting your artwork would bring class into the picture.
Good luck.

A great place to start is in coffee shops. Take pictures of all your work and put them in an album.

You will sell at higher prices through the galleries. BUY THIS BOOK "How To Get Started Selling Your Art" by Carole Katchen

Remember, artist (even the great ones) are a dime a dozen. Legwork and meeting other artists in order to put it out there is the only way to do it. Good luck!!!

Try making a webpage featuring your work. You could also sign up to participate at art auctions and shows in your area. Local Fairs are a great way to get your art work 'out there' for free!

You should try selling your paintings on eBay.

There are many artists sell their own art their. Check out either the "self-representing artists" or the contemporary artists categories.

Here's an interesting article about artists who are selling their own work on eBay:
