Discolored chocolate is perfectly ok. It changes color due to the rise and fall of temperatures. Providing that the unopened chocolate does not contain fruit or nuts (which could go rancid) the chocolate...although not as pretty...would be edible. Another thing..if the chocolate is in the form of a candy bar and contains nuts...and its been sitting around awhile.....make sure there are now mealy worms making a snack of the nuts before biting in!

Although it might look a little less appetizing than a lustrous, rich chocolatey-brown piece of candy, chocolate that has suffered bloom is still okay to eat. You may find the texture of sugar-bloomed chocolate to be a bit grainy on the outside, but it should still taste good. To prevent this from happening to your chocolate, simply use proper storage methods.

chocolate usually has a date on it. If it has no date then normally you woould answer that with common sense. About the discoloring, no that means the chocolate is old

the chocolate is still good. Their is a chemical in milk chocolate that oxidizes over time to turn white. This makes it taste slightly chalky, but it is still safe to eat.

I don't think it would hurt you. But just buy more chocolate. That means it's old.

It will crumble too much if it's really old. I've made brownies from squares with gray on them, it was fine.

no, when it starts to go white that's when it's bad.
