Just call him up and talk with him. There is no way that anything will happen between you if yall do not talk outside of when you normally see each other. It seems to me by the way you describe it that he may be into you too.
If you just hang back most likely he won't make the move either. Just call him up and maybe even ask him to hang out somewhere like the movies or something. No matter what stay confident in yourself and don't be afraid.

Look at it this way, if you don't make a move, how's he supposed to know that you like him?
Just forget about everyone around him and talk to him! Don't bother to care what other people think, you have to do something before some other girl gets to him first.
Believe me, I've been in the same boat as you before. I was afraid that this guy and his friends would think I'm weird, so I basically kept quiet, but one time at a party, I just started talking to him and I wouldn't shut up! He said he liked it when I talked to him a lot, so yeah, things worked out. :P
Good luck!

If a boy likes you, he will come to you. There could be the chance that hes just too shy, but if hes so popular thats most likely not the case. When you get older you will find that men appreciate the chase, and they will appreciate you more if you arent so available.
If you are hell bent on going after this boy, you should do it indirectly. You need to find a SUBTLE way to get him to notice what a great person you are. Whatever you do, dont try too hard or youll come off as desperate.
Since you have his email you could send him AND everyone else on your email list a note. Make it interesting, or funny. If its something you are passionate about, thats better. For instance, if you are into sewing blankets for the homeless, send out an email to everyone to let them know about the new blanket sewing program and how much the cold homeless would appreciate their support.
Who knows, both of you could end up having this passionate blanket sewing in common and spend the rest of your years together visiting fabric stores.
Ok, so maybe youre not a seamstress, but I'm sure you have unique and interesting interests. Look inside yourself and be real, dont be fake. If you pretend to be who you are not, the real you will come out and he will consider you a liar.
Whatever happens, just remember that your first love is rarely your last ;)

Actually I kinda had the same problem once, what I did was try to talk to the older guy more but try not to be annoying. I strongly suggest trying to be more friendly and maybe hang out with him more. You never know, he might appriciate your company. Also about the e-mail and phone number, you don't want to be stalkerish so occasionally if you want, call or e-mail, a conversation is always nice to bring up. Hope that helps.

Na i wouldnt suggest the gal making the move. That can backfire in some cases. But that doesn't mean dont make the move, you can but just dont show its a move :p eg, you already hav his number and email, since your so reserved at the play practice then you can jus call, txt or email him and ask something neutral, for example, how wud u suggest i read this line, or ask him somethin he is good at answering. So you can start up the initial "getting close" process and see what happens after. But dont ask him something too silly :D or something that reveals your making a move.

Well, obviously you're going to have to make some kind of "move" because he isn't just going to fall for you one day lol. Just try to get to be his friend, walk up, introduce yourself (it can be hard, but you can do it!) Flirt a lot, charm him to death lol. After awhile, if it seems like he likes you, ask him to hang out with you on the weekend, and let's see what happens from there.....

from experince I say let fate play the cards. But if you want make him notice you try wearing something different still in good taste but different so he will notice you. Its a nice ice breaker to start talking to him and then you will know he has some interest in you from him to notice something different. Then see where it goes from there.
