I have been on the depo shot for almost 3 months( its my frist time every using it i have had problems with other birth control) I am 4 or 5 weeks late now and my boyfriend and I never use protection I have been having bad mood swings and for the last couple of weeks i have felt really bad. I gusse i am a little nervous i have heard about people getting pergant while being on the shot.

It can happen, but its rare. one of the side effects of the shot is a lighter or lost period, so that isn't really a clue, oher side effects include headaches, weight gain, and mood swings. If you are worried get tested to be sure, and when you go back for your next one they should offer to test you also

Yes its very possible to get pregnant on any type of birth control, I do know a girl who got pregnant 2x on it. If I were you I would get off the depo though. It caused alot of crap for me, weight gain, headaches, and when I got off it I didnt have a period for a year, now I am on fertility meds to have a child, I think it all leads back to that damn shot myself. I've never heard anything good about the depo, the side effects you say you are getting are all from that shot!

I don't think so. I do know that while on the Depo your period does stop. I used to love being on the Depo since I had no AF but now that my husband and I are TTC boy do I regret it.

It is normal, i was on Depo for about three years and i haven't seen my cycle.
the only thing is that you will have to stop the shot about 6months to year before you are ready to have a baby - it stays in your system for a while
do not use for more than three years

I know several people that are my friends that have gotten pregnant on the depo shot. I did myself.

My period completely stopped while I was on Depo. I didn't have a period at all for 2 years.

YES< most def. you can any type of birth control is never 100% effective against pregnancy. the only things that are, are getting your tubes tyed or abstinance.
